What's an undertone you say?

A post about undertones seems so necessary! Knowing your undertone is a vital part in matching foundation and concealer to your skin. So let's get started! (I'll try to keep this as short as possible lol)

Your skin’s surface tone is the color that you can see on the surface of your skin, often described as light, medium, tan, deep, and so on. Your skin’s undertone is the color underneath the surface. You can have the same skin color as someone, but a different undertone.

Here's some tips on how to find your undertone but the best way is getting into a makeup store and playing around with some different shades and products.

COOL UNDERTONES:
If silver looks best on you most likely you have a cool undertone. Ppl with this UT(undertone) color will have bluish veins.  Your foundation should be more pink based. An example of a person would be Reese Witherspoon or Sarah Jessica Parker my ABSOLUTE favorite person in the entire world. Below is a chart of some tones that will work well with your skin. This goes as far as clothing, glosses, lip sticks, nail polish and other things of the sort.

WARM UNDERTONES: A person with a warm UT will most likely look good in golds and will have veins more of a greenish color. Yellow/Red based makeup will look best on you along with earth tones. An example of a person with UT this color would be BeyoncĂ© and Gabrielle Union. Below is another chart describing colors that will compliment this UT.

Now I don't really have to write much for Neutral UT because everything basically looks good on this skin tone! A person to describe this UT would be Jennifer Lopez who looks great in everything. If you have any further questions about undertones and finding yours comment below. But of course I still believe the best way to find what suits you would be trying on different things and seeing how you like them. That's the fun part right?

Something new.

I'm normally not a eye shadow palette buyer but I came across the Lorac After Glo palette and I figured why not give it a try. I also watched a few YouTube videos to get some ideas about looks I can do with the palette. It was a really cheap buy at Nordstrom Rack for $9.97 normally retailing for $24.00

I LOVE THESE SUPER BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL COLORS! Perfect for summer and spring. I'm excited to use these and get more into creating looks with eye shadows. If you've created some looks with this palette I'd love to see!
